That is why I like the idea of leaving the old, cheap, reliable model 10 in the truck over any 1911 or glock that cost three times as much. So I must leave the gun locked in the truck. Thanks to my State's CCW law however, I have no choice, I can not carry at church or any business that is posted as a no CCW establishment (which seems to be most of the agriculture businesses in Ohio where I happen to do business). Yeah, I know that there is always a possibility of a gun that is left in a car being stolen. It seems best to go OWB with a jacket or open buttondown covering it. I don't see a problem carrying it open, or even for CCW, so long as you don't do it IWB. The spur stands a chance snagging on clothing when drawn from an IWB and the weapon just doesn't profile right inside the wasitband. It is the quintessential security guard duty belt gun. That aside, the 4" model 10 is a bad CCW because of its size and build. If you can't carry concealed, you should have the gun locked when unattended and the gun should come with you when you go in for the night. The best thing you can have is your CCW on you where only you can get to it. Truck gun = gun waiting to be stolen (ask me how I came to this conclusion). I don't have any idea if/where an IWB could be had, but I would advise against that plan as it is.
